HD is actually pretty lame because only some channels are in it -- if they're not in it, these two bars come up on the TV screen and the picture doesn't come up in full (you can still see it -- the screen area is just smaller) but my dad said that by december of 06 all channels will be in HD, and since this purchase was massive for us, we`ll DEFINITELY still have that TV by then
